Originally from Portland, Oregon, Nate attended Western Kentucky University (Mahurin Honors College) where he majored in broadcasting and theater. Before graduating in 2013, he traveled internationally for multiple study abroad programs in England, New Zealand, and Turkey. Nate couldn't help but continue his professional endeavors overseas, and he carried out freelance documentary video and photography projects in Istanbul while working part-time at a hip hostel near the Marmara Sea. In 2014, he successfully merged two of his passions, aviation and traveling, by joining Qatar Airways' elite team of 5-star cabin crew.
