About Nate Hovee
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Nate attended Western Kentucky University (Mahurin Honors College) where he majored in broadcasting and theater. Before graduating in 2013, he traveled internationally for multiple study abroad programs in England, New Zealand, and Turkey. Nate continued his professional endeavors overseas, and he carried out freelance documentary video and photography projects in Istanbul while working part-time at a hip hostel near the Marmara Sea. In 2014, he merged two of his passions, aviation and traveling, by joining Qatar Airways' elite team of 5-star cabin crew. For over four years, Nate traversed the globe and developed a keen interest in beautifully capturing landscapes, cityscapes, architecture, and nature on camera while on layovers and vacations.
With a grateful heart and many fond memories, Nate said goodbye to the world of commercial aviation at the end of 2018 in order to fully focus on travel photography and freelance media production. Recently, Nate has expanded his online photography portfolios, which collectively feature over 2,500 images. His photographic work has been featured on numerous global platforms including CNN, Lonely Planet, Reader's Digest, USA Today, Viajes National Geographic, MSN, and Yahoo. He has also produced a number of independent documentary films, which are available on his YouTube channel.
Today, Nate lives on the idyllic tropical island of Siquijor, Philippines; now, as ever before, he's excited to take on a collection of media projects and fresh international adventures, capturing his journey and the vast beauty of the planet each step of the way.
